Mandate
The mandate of the US-CMS Project Office is to assist US physicists coming to CERN to participate in the CMS experiment. This includes:
- Help with handling US CMS Team Accounts
- Invitations to CERN - to be used in support of visa applications for Switzerland and France
- Help with CERN Computer Accounts
- Help registering visitor's laptops with the network service at CERN
- Help with setting up and maintaining Desktop PC's, printers, scanners, etc..
- Serve as a mail drop for visitors
- Liaison with CERN Travel, Housing Office, local hotels, PH car rentals, Hertz car rentals
- Maintaining a small number of US CMS Apartments
- Liaison with IT Department for databases and data storage
US CMS Project Office at CERN

Anyone in the US CMS Project Office can assist US CMS Collaborators with the following:
* Assistance in registering with the CERN Users' Office
* Assistance with obtaining necessary CERN computer accounts
* Assistance with registering laptops for use on the CERN network
* Assistance in applying for access to CMS work areas after completion of safety courses
* Liaison with CERN Travel, Housing Office, local hotels, PH car rentals, Hertz car rentals
